A good design is essential for a website's success.
The internet is now growing at a phenomenal rate and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
With people becoming more familiar and confident in using the internet a website can often be the first contact between a business and client. Therefore it is crucial that a website's design portrays the right impression and feel for the business.
Competition between web presence is becoming much tougher so making your website stand out from the crowd is now more important than ever.
The design of a website not only means how good your website looks, but also how it performs.
This means how easy it is to use, how accessible it is across different mediums such as mobile devices and screen readers for the blind and also ensuring that it is as future proof as possible.
I personally have a passion for designing sites that are strictly compliant to the World Wide Web Consortium international web standards.
Another important factor I consider when developing a website is S.E.O. (search engine optimisation). This means creating a site that search engines such as Google can find, read easily and then place high in their search results.
I am a website and graphic designer based in Exmouth.
Although I am based in Devon I do create websites for people, businesses and organisations outside this area as you will see from my recent work.
So how does it all happen?
I can usually gain a businesses' feel from their logo, letter heading, corporate colours etc. but most of all direct communication by telephone and email. After this initial contact I will then request you to send any photographs and written dialogue via a CD or email if possible.
From all of this information I can create a couple of page designs to choose from, which can be altered to exact requirements. From there I will create the rest of the site based on the theme you have chosen keeping you fully updated along the way.
Once the website is published I provide a useful and very comprehensive statistics page, promote the site though search engines and give as much support and advice as I can.
If needed I can also carry on maintaining the website with updates and changes as necessary.
I am happy to take on freelance projects offered by other website design companies.
